For many adult children, they get pressure from their parents about having babies, because let’s face it — being a grandparent is the best. But sometimes, kids just aren’t in the cards for some people, so why not get a dog instead?
A young woman named Meghan Specksgoor needed to take a trip to New York City which meant she had to find a pet sitter for her 4-year-old dog named Chance. Without giving it much thought, her dad came to mind.
Meghan met Chance at the Richmond Animal League and immediately fell in love. “I walked into [there] with a friend of mine who was looking for a puppy. And walked out with a completed application for ‘Chap.’ ‘Chap’ was brought to RAL with a shattered jaw from someone shooting him.
We had surgery done to get a plate put in his jaw and he has been perfect ever since. He’s been re-named after my favorite rapper “Chance the Rapper,” and I thought it was fitting since he has been given a second chance at life,” she told Bored Panda.
